Cooling / Plumbing / Fuel
Like most other guys and gals doing the V-8 conversion, I am
using a Ford Taurus fan.  It has a reputation for being a very
heavy duty fan.  That is exactly what you need for this
application.  You need a fan that can really pull some air through
that radiator, especially if you are going to really beef up your
engine.

I have also chosen to use a Griffin 26"x19" (P/N
GRI-1-25222-X)fully aluminum radiator.
Hoses...
My lower hose also has a t-fitting in it for the steam vent
hose coming out of the back of the heads.  This line is very
important on this engine and should not just be blocked off.
I also had to use the t-fitting because the lower radiator
fitting is very large on this radiator and the t-stat housing is
small in comparison, so the t-fitting is serving 2 purposes.
Power Steering Pump...
Next what I did was cut off the end on the Datsun
connector that originally was on the P/S pump side of the
connector.  Then took the Chevy connector and the
Datsun connector and had a welder friend of  mine weld
them together.  Now I have a 1/2 Datsun connector and
1/2 Chevy connector.  Now all you have to do is use the
original Datsun P/S lines!  Just use this "adapter" to
connect the pressure side and then use the return line to
connect it to the reservoir of the P/S pump!

Now most guys will say be careful with the P/S pressure
side because there can be as much as 1000PSI of
pressure when the wheel is at full crank, now this is true
but a good weld can easily hold that.  That's why I had a
professional welder make mine.
Well it seems like the power steering conversion from a Datsun
P/S pump to a Chevy P/S pump is quite a big issue so I will tell
you how I hurdled this obsticel the "easy" way!

What I did was take the connection out of the P/S pump on the
Datsun pump for the pressure side.  This is a male end on both
sides.  Then I took the connection from the Chevy power
steering line that goes to the pressure side of the pump.  This is a
one sided male connector that goes into the pump itself..  You
just have to get it off the P/S line.
Fuel system...
In-line pumps are notorious for being a little noisy so the
stock mount combined with the extra padding from the
heater hose should help keep the pump quite.
The lines are run down the same path as the old ones.  I
am also reusing the old rubber mounts that the old lines
went through.  The holes in the rubber mounts are slightly
small for the 3/8" hard line but they do fit.
This is where I mounted my fuel filter.  I haven't finish the
routing of the SS hoses yet to the engine because I need to
reinstall the engine before I can do that.
My upper radiator hose is a modified stock Camaro
hose.  The stock hose has a Y-fitting in the middle of
for a hose that runs to the water pump.  I had to take
the hose that connectors to the radiator off of the
stock Camaro hose and install a larger one because
the fitting on the radiator was bigger that the hose.
My new fuel system consists of an MSD fuel pump, Mallory
Fuel filter, -6AN hard lines, and custom SS braided -6AN
lines.

For the fuel pump mount I reused the stock mount but had to
modify it a little.  What I did was place the MSD pump in the
old mount and then wrapped the pump in pieces of 5/8"
heater hose.
Update...  My modified fuel pump bracket has worked very
good and you can't even hear the pump run when I have the
engine running.
